Teacher Salary and Benefits Survey

Teacher Salary and Benefits Survey

The Teacher Salary and Benefits Survey is the most authoritative source of information on teacher pay and benefits in the independent school’s sector available today. It is a 3-yearly survey and is supported by most of the leading UK schools. No data is published externally - instead each participant school receives a detailed report comparing their pay and benefits with peer schools.

The Teacher Salary and Benefits Survey is the most authoritative source of teacher and senior staff pay information anywhere in the sector today. It is conducted by Baines Cutler on a 3-yearly basis. The most recent survey was in 2013/14 and was supported by many hundreds of schools. Separate reports are available for senior and junior schools and departments. The next survey will be in 2016/17 with a data collection data of 1 September 2016, completion online in the second half of the Autumn Term 2016 and results and reports in February 2017. However it is possible for schools to participate in arrears in the 2013/14 survey if they did not already do so at the time. Please contact us for more details.

Because data on pay and benefits is highly sensitive no data is published externally – instead each participant school receives a detailed report comparing their pay and benefits with peer schools. The pricing of reports varies by size and type of school and a list of prices for the 2013/14 survey is available from us. An example of the report participant schools receive can be found in our Publications section. We will shortly be working on the design and questions for the 2016/17 survey and will hold meetings with many schools to help us in this.
